Monday, June 7, 1993

People magazine (again) said: "Forget Schwarzenegger and Stallone - Hollywoods newest action heroes are going to be women."

My comment: "No comment!"

If Arnold were a woman, he would probably lool like Bridget Fonda (I guess)

Arnold was nominated for 1997 MTV Movie Awards in the Best Action Sequence and Best Sound Effects category for his state-of-the-art free-fall scene in Eraser, in which the Oak makes a midair leap from the wing of a Boeing 747 - sans parachute.

Arnold spent the evening at the Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate the premiere of Harrison Ford's Six Days, Seven Nights, which was directed by Arnold's pal Ivan Reitman. Arnold loved the movie, but loved Ford's character's leather jacket even more. He later bought ten of them at a hefty $1.800 each. Also at the soiree were Anne Heche, Harrison Ford and Melissa Etheridge.

o2000-06-06 - INFO - Gladiator & Arnold - PART 2o

I've found two interesting news that is almost two years old:

Wednesday, June 10, 1998

Ridley Scott, whose most recent film was GI Jane, was set to direct an action-drama called Gladiator. Scott was available because a project he planned to make with Arnold Schwarzenegger was scrapped by Warner because it was too expensive. Gladiator focuses on the men who battled it out in public during the days of the Roman Empire. It will be made by DreamWorks studio.

Wednesday, December 30, 1998

Aint-it-cool-news internet page rumored that: "Arnold MIGHT make a cameo in Ridley Scott's roman epic GLADIATOR (which is done by Universal). Scott and Arnold were going to do I AM LEGEND together so maybe the rumor could prove to be true."

Two other connections are:

7. The director Ridley Scott was in serious discussions to direct Arnold's Conan the Barbarian!!!

6. Arnold's close friend Sven Ole Thorsen played the part of unbeatable Gladiator at the end of the movie!

MM124071.jpg (14204 bytes)

Arnold's Gladiators Sven Ole Thorsen (left from Arnold in the yellow suit) and big Ralf Mueller (right from Arnold). Also on the picture are Arnold's stunt double Peter Kent (behind Arnold) and two other boydbuilding friends (I think that's Tom Platz in the yellow t-shirt)

o2000-06-05 - INFO - Gladiator & Arnoldo

Yesterday I finally had a chance to see the Gladiator.

gl2.jpg (4641 bytes)

Russell Crowe is amazing (isn't he always?) in the title role and the whole film is the closest thing to Conan the Barbarian in years! I know that you fans have seen this film already, but have you seen any connections to Arnold Schwarzenegger? Here are some connections that I saw!

1. teaser trailer used the greatest score in film history - Conan the Barbarian's score by Basil Poleudoris

2. It's obvious that Ridley Scott (director) was inspired by Conan the Barbarian - music, cinematography, armour...

3. the success of the Gladiator (which should be over $160 million in US alone) could bring Arnold's Crusade one step closer to reality

4. Arnold's close friend Ralf Mueller (who plays Conan on TV) has played one of the gladiators - with dubbed voice I believe

AB006005.jpg (17376 bytes)

5. Was Gladiator also one of the reasons why Mr. Scott couldn't direct Arnold's I am Legend a few time ago...

The people of Rome, have you seen anything else?

Arnold was in talks with Ridley Scott to play in I am Legend. Personally I would love to see that film in the future, but then again, I'm also glad Ridley choose the Gladiator.
