Probably just a rumor, but according to The Age newspaper, Arnold told Kate Winslet (Titanic) she would have to lose ten pounds for her next film, End Of Days, if she were to ‘credibly play his love interest’.

One06002.jpg (5508 bytes)

To her credit, apparently Winslet chose to pass on the project.

RESULTS #28: Poor box-office revenue from Jingle All the Way was one of the reasons, that after 15 at ICM, Arnold dismissed his agent Lou Pitt in 1997. What do you think?

As Titanic was quickly elevating it's way up the top 10 list of highest-grossing movies of all time, 20th Century Fox has told director James Cameron that he can move ahead with his twice-delayed remake of Planet of the Apes, according to the Calgary Sun. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the long-time choice of Cameron to lead the Ape revival, but according to the paper, Ah-nuld was then in negotiations with director Roger Spottiswoode to lead the feature film version of the '70s cop drama S.W.A.T.

While filming The 6th Day, one fan reported that the crew had a close-call on the set. "While filming a car chase scene, one of the vehicles went out of control or cut a little too widely and ended up running over the dolly tracks and hitting the camera setup, causing both the camera operator and focus puller to be injured, the former suffering a broken leg. Apparently, the production didn't have an ambulance on set for the scene, which is a big no-no for stunts like that. I'm not sure what the repurcussions of the accident were."

President Bush rewarded Arnold's support: Arnold took the role during President George Bush's administration and served as chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

16231141.jpg (13708 bytes)

Arnold's objective as chairman was to improve the fitness and wellbeing of today's children while increasing parental involvement. Schwarzenegger later toured the U.S. (50-state tour) doing school lectures, benefits, and public service messages between his very busy film schedule.

George Bush spoke about Arnold at a fundraiser once and was quoted: "Arnold is amazing! He works so hard to increase fitness awareness in children, more than the job requires. He is the biggest movie star on the planet and he cares. He doesn't have to....but he cares."
